Took me from my chemical lab And they stuck me on an astro pad When the transfer was okayed my colleagues abhorred me But I was busy being bad Said I don’t even want to do this But my expertise is second-to-none Cursed with my prodigy genius Commander Jekyll’s what they call me, hun. I got this feeling inside, I called it Edward Hyde. I said I got this feeling inside, I call it Edward Hyde! "This is ground control to Apollo 66, Cosmonaut Stevens, please come in – your life support vest is at zero… and you, too Cosmonaut Jefferson. Commander Jekyll, where is your crew? Please respond!" “Ha-ha well they’re all dead!” I said with a laugh, “stabbed sixty-six times and then released through the hatch!” well my voice drowned in static, all they heard was panic I regained myself as I was coming down fast. "Soaring through the atmosphere" I got this feeling inside, I called it Edward Hyde. I said I got this feeling inside, I call it Edward Hyde! "Jekyll, this is ground control. We’re gonna be bringing you down shortly. Based on the tragic accident that happened in space, expect a real hero’s welcome, just for you. See you on the ground."

Sweatin’ in your room, your gloom-and-doom room, Painted all black and reeks of perfume, And that’s where I left him lyin’ face-down on the white sheet, Sheets stained red and crimson pooled at my feet. You were screamin’, And pointin’, At the knife in His hand. It made sense, Good sense, So adequate Explanation. And now you’re like Eve, Hiding in the back, Knowin’ paradise is something she don’t have. And now I’m like God. Parties in the front, Coverin’ His tracks, Bodies in the trunk. Years tick by, our salad days we do forget, Until his posse rides up lookin’ for more than just sin. Well all this time in heaven as my lioness’s little mouse The unsung hero of the old west whorehouse. We were sleepin’, And wakin’, And drinkin’, Again. And that’s when They began Their little Demonstration. (chorus) First thing they do is shoot a boy in the street, Not to hold a hostage, just to prove they were mean. Six-shooter number one bursts through the door, And I ended him there, grabbing his guts on the floor. Two-three-four, dropped ‘em dead in the street, Then one through the window gets the better of me. One in my side so he gets one in the head, When you come out blazin’ to meet five and six. And now you’re like Eve, Lyin’ in the back, Knowin’ paradise is something she don’t have. And now I’m like God. Lyin’ in the front, Crawlin’ back His tracks, The party almost done. And now we lay there as the dust is settled, Smoke still pours from metal. They’ll bury us as one bloody mess! And I’m alone, clutchin’ to your dress, Followin’ you home, my lovely lioness.

Lucky 02:52
I said, “My name is Dwight, and I don't have any papers but I have a mustache and I want an adventure.” They said, “How old are you?” I said older than I am and they said, “Get your scrawny black ass on that raft!” cause I'm a lucky little fucker I'm a lucky little fucker I'm a lucky little fucker I'm a lucky and I'm little (repeat) This little bitch boy walks in holdin’ up two wires and before you even know it he's exploding. Sharpened bamboo right through that prostitute’s skull and bits of barbed wire through that kids face and a blast of hot air... All that hit me... And so they put me in charge Of my own scrawny brigade Of limp-dick wimps Pissin’ their pants and crying for their mommy I told ‘em right there on the first day. And if any of you little shits go and run and hide Or cry in your helmets, yell and jeopardize My life or the lives of these other guys I will not hesitate to remove the .45 off of my side And blow your brains out the back of your skull And show up and salute to your ma and pa To 21 guns in your home town And I won’t lose a wink of sleep for putting you down.

The Snow 04:54
Finally on that golden gravel path That ends at your little ramshackle shack. finally found my way back home. I hide from termites in cement. I hide from the global government. I hide from everyone I know. All day I dream of suicide, But I can’t a slip from the chip inside. Finally figured all that shit out on fate – Turns out you’re just my deathmate. It’s been a hundred and twenty long, long years, And I’ve just got nowhere else to go. Oh it was a good life, I had a good wife. Last year, she got taken by the snow. Oh, it’s been quite a time I say as you hide and I Pretend to listen – put on the kettle and your final show. It’s been a hundred and twenty long, long years, And I’ve just got nowhere else to go. Oh, we were just kids when We tore each other to pieces. Now you’re the only one I wanna know. The knife sinks deep and feels good. I laugh just like you knew I would. You drink quick just like you know you should. Now the floor’s got your company from the hemlock slipped in your tea. Could you find the space in your bones For a vial of my marrow? Our souls will spring just like the sparrows used to, When there was a sky for them to spring into. Decades a slave in front of glowing screens… Oh, broken backs and replacement rings. Grandchildren speak in foreign tongues A secret war fought with all minds won. Oh, let’s go to the only place we don’t know. Oh, don’t let me go out alone in the snow.

"And now, dear listener, is the part of the story where you scurry out of your earthly form. To an eternity of slumber, you say? Hehe, I’m afraid not. Hark! Can you hear them? Trumpets of war! Off in the distance, an inscription on that pyramid – can you read it? “Here be where all souls go but never find what they wanted, and so abandon all hope for heaven is haunted." Slippin’ into this waterbed With a sack of pirhannas and a thing I just met It says, “What we gonna do about this thing called fame?” As I’m paddlin’ then drownin’ right there in the frame. Long bottlenecks with round cork heads, Stacked to the ceiling of this old tool shed. Tryin’ some scryin’ in an oil bowl And what we gonna find, we don’t wanna know. Haunted heavens, Like it or not, you’ll fight the good fight. Haunted heavens, ‘cause when you die, you’re due for wartime. I wake up in prison, I wake up fighting in hell. I’m always at war until I’m back in jail. I wake up in dead space, I’m slippin’ too deep – This ain’t religion, it’s just pickin’ out soldiers like sheep. "Face-to-face, we finally meet, (Santa Muerte…) I see thousands of you, but you see none of me. Come this way, just close your eyes and see – (…don’t act like you know me.) Well open your mouth and drink death’s water free." (Oooh wah – haunted heavens!) Haunted heavens, Like it or not, you’ll fight the good fight. Haunted heavens, ‘cause when you die, you’re due for wartime. Oh in heaven, Gonna ascend, descend then wreak destruction. Don’t you even make believe that you don’t believe it. "You’re not listening! You are WORMS! Disgusting in your filth! Just a SECOND death you dare think you deserve?! Your deaths will be innumerable – strung through the billions of trillions of galaxies in these vast cosmos! You will fight, and of this battle you will never – ever – find REST!" Santa Muerte, don’t act like you know me.

She was born in a parking lot Of a seedy bar in a broke-down car. She said anywhere’s gotta be better than this – And if we leave, we ain’t gonna be missed. She’s my little shooter upper, Want her to be my lover, My little shooter upper. She says one of these days, we’re gonna hit the road But we’re gettin’ old and all our time got sold But we stick to the dream And we desperately cling to a day when we ain’t gonna do what we’re told. Now we’ve ditched our bodies but we’ve kept our wits And we’re more than just space fillin’ up the obits. She was as black as they come, and as hot as they black – Now we’re gonna drive to heaven in a Cadillac.

Nancy do you remember when I went and fought a demon for you? Got hit in the face with a shovel by a skeleton went tumblin down... had a makeshift junkyard funeral and robbed a church just to hallow the ground fillin an old liquor bottle with new holy water like lambs to the slaughter- me and your drunken father were... headin towards our own urns well half this shit aint mine more than half this shit aint mine and it's hard not give such obvious answers when you ask such dumb questions! I'm breaking up with a dead girl and it's not as easy as it seems cause Nancy to me you're more than just a bad dream...

Met a guy named Fred but he liked ya better dead and so he brought ya down but babe you're still around I pop a pill over here I pop a pill over there but darlin you're always everywhere and it aint FDA but really it's okay I won't stop talkin to myself till I've had my say And every since then I'm a laughing stock lost all of my cred- despite all I was taught wake up like your dad always drunk in a ditch I was a doctor in the field of medicine Nancy before you batted your baby blues before I lost my life cause it was me that you used just like every man that's ever got close to you I was a doctor in the field of medicine! I wake up in a school I aint never been to... and even though I try to hide sister Mary's by my side and I ask her if I would have been one of her maniac lovers by now as they drag me out in a big ol baggie with a bloody blondie drug- parallel beside me! And every since then I'm a laughing stock lost all of my cred- despite all I was taught wake up like your dad always drunk in a ditch I was a doctor in the field of medicine Nancy before you batted your baby blues before I lost my life cause it was me that you used just like every man that's ever got close to you I was a doctor in the field of medicine! Side effects of Hypnocil a sudden loss of appetite and hallucinations of dark fantastical proportions side effects of Hypnocil a loss of friends and family and seeing old dead loves come- back to you in your sleep! Side effects of Hypnocil may disrupt your REM by seeing her in her dress with four stab wounds all weeping and if you don't remember your dream and wake up screamin count yourself lucky... yeah you're a lucky little fucker! And every since then I'm a laughing stock lost all of my cred- despite all I was taught wake up like your dad always drunk in a ditch I was a doctor in the field of medicine OPERA: where have I been? Close my eyes go sleep let us begin where are we who are you where have I been? Nancy before you batted your baby blues before I lost my life cause it was me that you used just like every man that's ever got close to you I was a doctor in the field of medicine! Nancy before you batted your baby blues before I lost my life cause it was me that you used just like every man that's ever got close to you I was a doctor in the field of medicine! So I wind this rabbit, around this tree I toss the whole forest scene over a moonlit beam and I chant these words- whispers turn to a scream Nancy I know you're more than just a bad dream!

Detroit 04:41
Rudely awakened with a samurai sword It’s sunk in my sails Her pigtails soaked in entrails Soaked in wine from the night before And she shoots me my own Goddamn smile right back at me and I feel like laughing This new family of a stranger She’s Herod in my manger My widowed bride My murderous savior So the world is over Well it had a good run In between explosions Let’s have us some fun ‘Cause we’ll fight to the death We’ll fight for a breath Long after breathing’s in effect ‘cause Lungs ain’t broken Just drowning in blood Her momma said I'm a flash in the pan But here I am and I'm burning so bright like a kite On its maiden flight Fried when it flied with the stormy night And I said I don't want all of this shit on my shoes Used and abused Run through the ringer and soaked in the blues Psychosis infused insomnia Oh you're my muse So the world is over Well it had a good run In between explosions Let’s have us some fun ‘Cause we’ll fight to the death We’ll fight for a breath Long after breathing’s in effect ‘cause Lungs ain’t broken Just drowning in blood Miss Slipavich, you've got a baby ailing in your youth You feed her pills you feed her herbs and bathe her in vermouth Yeah she's a real martyr Like a truck without a starter Sitting in a compactor trying to reason with steel Saying, “Hey, look at my exhaust,” As it grows White like a ghost Saying that counts as a healthy breath So angels above absolve me of death Detroit Is the place Where all our dreams come true – And we feel like we're lovely Traipsing the streets Nude in our cleats Until it's a wet night in the city And the skyscrapers sink in the muck And I'm falling and crawling and dying away And my jaw’s on the floor but I'm trying to say That I feel like we're at our most handsome Today Today In Detroit Detroit Is the place Where all our dreams come true

Teacup 04:02
So you’re my little ashtray For when I’m bored I’ll light up a smoke And flick a little spent death Into you. And you’re broken teacup Don’t even have a handle but it be a shame just to throw you out Still every time I hold you it burns And when I get a feeling, Like a feeling is a dangerous thing, You know I’ll soak it in, and then I’ll wring it out. Well you’re my little ashtray for when I’m bored I’ll light up a smoke and flick a little spent death Just into you. And you’re broken teacup Don’t even have a handle and every time I hold you it burns But it would be shame, just to throw you out. And when I get a feeling, Like a feeling is a dangerous thing, You know I’ll soak it in, and then I’ll wring it out.
